It's that time of year again - the football league season is over and fans look forward to a busy summer of transfer rumours and expectations for next season. It's also the time when teams start to release their new kits. Here's my pick of the worst designs we'll be seeing during the 2012-13 season. Let me know if you agree or disagree in the comment section!

5. Liverpool (Home)

Now from a design point of view, Liverpool's new kit, made by Warrior Sports is not bad in my opinion. So why is it in my list you ask? Well first of all, Warrior Sports decided to replace Liverpool's logo with a simple liver bird and remove the two justice flames which honoured the Hillsborough dead and move them to the back of the shirt together with the number 96 (the year if the disaster).

Unsurprisingly this provoked a great deal of outrage from some of the families of the dead. Not a great way to launch a kit..

4. Ajax (Away)

This is a great kit...if you're planning to play on a busy road in the middle of the night. Those luminous shorts are horrific. Also not sure what that cross is doing on the shirt. Since when have Ajax been the Church's club?

3. Olympique Lyonnais

Who came up with this brilliant idea? Lyon's 2012/13 kit is the first 3D kit to be released, ever. Lyon fans wearing 3D glasses will apparently be able to see images popping out from the shirts.

I can't see many fans 1) wearing 3D glasses to matches 2) even if they do, when will they be close enough to see those 3D images. Also, do fans really care about seeing 3D images during matches? No! they want to see the ball and the action! On top of that, the design is awful

I guess these were desginedby someone you'd never watched a game in their lives.

2. Manchester United (Home)

It's been a bad week to be a United fan. First, Man City snatch the title in the dying seconds of the season and then to make matters worse, Nike release this. Table Cloth? Picnic Blanket? Man City fans' week just got even better.

1. Barcelona (Home)

Could this be the real reason Pep Guardiola left? It's yet another example of Nike tinkering with a design and getting it wrong. What's wrong with the traditional stripes? This shirt looks like the colour has run in the wash. Maybe it's just a cunning plan - make the opposition laugh so much that they become easier to beat!
